When did you stop wearing briefs

Hi guys

My interest in thongs came from my interest in wedgies, and that started at secondary school because I was terrified of people finding out I still wore briefs. I'm from the UK and most boys stop wearing briefs (or 'pants' as they're called) from ages 8-11 - the end of primary school. Switching to boxers seemed to be kind of a rite of passage. After that, if you're found wearing briefs, you can expect teasing, pantsing and, rarely, wedgies.

It wasn't super uncommon to keep wearing briefs into secondary school, but after age 13 or so almost everyone wore boxers. But I kept my pants all through to 18! In that time I got lucky as only really my friends knew about my undies, but I have some great memories of other boys getting found out and shamed in their briefs. I got a wedgie myself in year 7 when I was wearing the dreaded tightly whities - but the wedgie giver didn't seem to realise he'd hit the jackpot and found a briefs wearer, as he didn't make any comment on my underwear choice.

It was only in the summer before going to university that I decided it really was time I started wearing boxers and made the switch. I'm wondering when the rest of you stopped wearing briefs. Any good memories?
 
I stopped at aged 20ish (cant remember exactly but around that time) but i stopped as more of a comfort thing as the boxers gave more freedom etc.

As for memories, i got away myself - luck or on purpose who knows but somebody i was friends with felt forced into switching to stop being teased as it was mentioned to them after pe classes and i can remember somebody who not many people liked being pantsed by a group of girls and it was discovered he was wearing briefs so he was teased for that.
 
I started wearing boxers when I was 11 (in middle school). I didnt completely switch over to boxers until I was probably 12 or 13 though. I know that was the trend in middle school, almost every guy wore boxers or at least boxer briefs. I was paranoid about someone seeing my briefs in the locker room or getting pantsed. Luckily, I was only pantsed in them around friends and even then luckily they didnt really mention it.
 
Hello I'm from UK.

I wore pants until I was 17 then slowly made the switch over to boxers.
My mum would always buy me pants I was teased sometimes getting changed in pe especially in year 11 I was one of the only guys who still wore pants.

I remember I was pantsed in pe a few times that was really embarrassing. And friends have given me wedges before but that was done more in good fun

When I was 10, I was wearing tear-away track pants and tighty whities

these twin girls had a little brother that they would send off to prank people so they wouldn’t get in trouble hahaha

This kid was a few years younger than me and he was really small so he was able to sneak up

I was climbing on the jungle gym when suddenly, my pants get ripped completely off and I’m standing in front of the whole school during recess with just a pair of tighty whities from the Gap

the whole schoolyard burst out laughing and I’d never been so embarrassed. I jumped down and tackled the kid who stole my pants and punched him as hard as I could in the face hahaha. I felt bad after that I got him so hard but he shouldn’t have stole my pants haha

anyway I went home that day and threw out all my tighty whities and started wearing boxers from that point forward hahaha

in the case that my pants got stolen again, I didn’t want to get caught in tiny tighty whities hahaha
 
Stopped wearing briefs when I was in sixth grade. My classmates would call briefs 'skimpies', and most of them started wearing boxers around then. Due to peer pressure, I started wearing boxers in sixth grade.
 
Wore boxers quite young, I’d say around 9
Kept that style for a long time, I’d say til about 22. Switched to boxer briefs and today I wear the modal boxer briefs from BYLT. Won’t ever buy anything else, they’re great.

No thongs in your history, ElPajarito? Funny to think that the person who is responsible for the best and most comprehensive collection of thong pics on the entire internet has never actually worn thong underwear before.


As for me, I stooped wearing briefs ~16 when I could buy boxers for myself. My mom was weird/strict about it, and wouldn't buy me any boxers (she thought they would make me promiscuous or something). So while every other guy was switching to boxers in middle school, I was cursed with wearing tighty whities until half-way thru high-school. I was definitely teased for it, and was a target for wedgies from friends and sometimes older bullies. The worst and most embarrassing tho was being outed as a tighty whity wearer in in front of girls. My mom's scheme worked because nothing turns off high school girls, who were all wearing sexy thongs at the time, more than a dork who still wears tighty whities. Not that my fortune changed any when I finally did switch to boxers tho, the damage had already been done. hahaha

While I can only remember getting like 3-4 wedgies in middle/high school, I feel like the fear and paranoia of getting one was constant. A wedgie was the most humiliating thing that could have happened to me at the time. It's possible that this contributed to my thong fetish because while I was doing everything in my power to avoid my underwear going up my butt, all the cool girls I had crushes on were purposely wearing underwear that would ride up their butt the entire day! While I loved the look, the permanent-wedgie aspect of thong underwear completely perplexed me at the time, and I became fascinated with how they could tolerate it all day. As such, thongs weren't just a physical attraction for me, but a mental obsession as well.

Anyways, my boxer phase lasted until I was about 22 when I switched to men's thongs, and I've been a thong/commando guy ever since. Ironic that the kid who hated having his underwear up his butt would actually grow up to find thong underwear to be the most comfortable style. hahaha. I do have some fancy boxer briefs that I will wear if I think I might be with a lady tho. I actually had a conversation with a woman a few years ago who found men's thongs a total turn off, but she said she'd rather her man wear thongs than tighty whities! hahahaha. That's how unappealing briefs are, even men's thongs are "cooler!" lol

Never had any interest tbh it’s not my personal style. As I wrote in one of the other threads my thong obsession was very young and always directed towards women in them so it’s a deep routed spark. For me and my gf’s, they’ve mostly been into what I wear now and just being in shape as an attraction point.
But I’ll say I do the picking out of their thongs/g-strings. Some gf’s had basic stuff, I had to change that asap.

Yeah, I hear ya. My thong fetish is directed towards women too, and believe me I never thought men's thongs would be my personal style either. hahaha. Weren't you curious what it felt like for girls to wear them tho? It's a permanent wedgie, sexy as hell, but it looks sooo uncomfortable. Having a wedgie for a minute was agonizing for me, having one all day long seemed impossible and yet girls were doing it every day and it didn't seem to bother them at all! Madness!

I was fascinated how all the girls could go thru their lives with their underwear endlessly riding up their ass and never get annoyed or bothered by it. It was like black magic. So I became super obsessed with tying a thong just to solve the riddle and see what it's was like. I had to know what the secret was. I had to know how they do it. The curiosity consumed me.

So that unrelenting curiosity is what got me to try wearing them. I fully expected to hate it, but to my surprise I learned, as long as I had the right size, the string up my butt didn't bother me either and I actually found them comfortable to wear! I still can't explain it. I hate having wedgies and yet thongs don't' faze me at all.

It's funny, in middle school I remember being glad I wasn't a girl because the peer pressure to switch to boxers seemed so much better then the peer pressure the girls faced to switch to thongs. 8th grade me would probably flip out to know that in the near future his underwear drawer too would be filled with thongs, that he is actually one of "those crazy people" who likes to wear them, and that everytime he marveled with awe at a whaletail disappearing down a girl's buttcrack he was just previewing his own destiny. hahaha

It was the same kind of thing at my middle school too. Guys had to wear boxers or fit in and avoid getting teased about tighty whities and clearly some of the girls felt pressure to switch to thongs (much to my delight). It is weird how guys are pressured into wearing bigger underwear and girls much smaller underwear. I went to middle and high school during the era where sagging pants and whale tails were both in. It is kind of funny looking back at how both genders were sort of eager to show off their "cool" underwear.

Yeah I wonder if it’s due to us trying to get away from what we wore as a kid. Most boys and girls wear briefs when they are young so it’s probably a mix of trying to be more mature while also fitting in with what others are wearing
 
In my late teens I started experimenting with wearing thongs as my primary underwear choice. In my early 20's I officially made the switch to all girls/womens underwear. They're way more comfortable, cuter, and sexier. So yes thongs and G-strings are what I normally wear. I still wear regular girls underwear but not very often. The G-string is my goto underwear choice. I've tried to go back to regular breifs and I can't do it. They feel so big, bagy, plain, rough, and emotionless. I'd rather wear nothing than those big saggy excuses for underwear.

They're not like the big water white style briefs more bikina briefs they look pretty similar to men swimming Speedos except from a different material.

Always found it strange that in USA they tend to have the big Walter White style briefs but UK is more of a bikini style pants lol.
Does anyone know what I mean am I just stereotyping.

Yeah that’s totally true, most of the briefs sold in North America are very unflattering. Huge tighty whites with a lot of material.

from what I’ve heard, Europe is much more into bikini briefs. I’ve only seen that bikini brief style sold one time here in Canada at a Walmart hahaha. It’s really not common here

but I remember having a friend that was from England in elementary school and people would tease him and say he was wearing “women’s panties” in the locker room, but he was just wear bikini briefs

I actually bought some online a while ago and they are really nice! I still prefer thongs but I still feel sexy in bikini briefs
 
For some reason it has to do with the way that packaged underwear comes.
Guys who buy packaged underwear have no idea what it looks like and I think they're ok with that.
For the rest of us who handpick each pair, it's easier to choose underwear that looks good.
 
I read some of your posts and had a good laugh🤣 I always took my mother's thongs from her drawer, I wore them all day and she never noticed because she only wore thongs and thought that all of them were worn out. It was when I was about 12 years old. After a few months, when she noticed me in her thongs, she patted me on the back and took me shopping, she chose cotton, comfortable thongs for me. And that's what I'm left with, I love wearing calvins.
